Looking for different ways to bring out genuine smiles during your photoshoots?

Here are our 5 Prompts to coax those genuine smiles.

1. Kiss Tag

Whether it's the arm, the cheek or the foot, to tag the other in this game, they have to chase and catch their partner and kiss them somewhere on their body in order to tag them.

2. Dance & Spin!

Adding movement to your shots can a beautiful element to your photos, especially if there is a flowy dress involved!

Here, I caught the girls at the end of a spin and I love the sense of movement in their hair and legs.

Dancing and spinning is also one of my favourite prompts for video.

3. Use Your Surroundings

If your photoshoot is during the fall, adding fallen leaves into the mix is a great way to bring out some great expressions.

Whether you ask them to throw leaves at each other, tickle a neck with a leaf, or lie down in them, there is no end to the creativity and fun you can bring to the session with this one.

4. Prince/Princess Charming

Add some fairytale magic into the session by asking each partner to kiss the other's hand.

5. Lying on the ground

Changing your perspective is a lovely way to diversify your photos.

Make sure you do this at the end of the session, not only to keep their clothes clean for the rest of the photos, but as a relaxing bookend after all those games!

Giving your couple a prop to tease the other with is also a great way to encourage them to let loose. Whether it's a leaf, a flower or snow, there is always something you can use.

I recently had the privilege of creating two sizzle reels to showcase the event of

Planted Expo in Toronto!

The purpose of this first reel was to attract vendors to

exhibit at Planted Expo 2023.

In the vibrant world of business to business marketing, the power of visual storytelling is unparalleled. Recently, I had the privilege of creating a Business-to-Business (B2B) sizzle reel for Planted Expo in Toronto, North America's plant-based exhibition.

Join me on the behind-the-scenes journey of capturing the essence of this plant-based revolution and translating it into a compelling B2B narrative.

Understanding the Planted Expo Vision

The first step in creating a this particular sizzle reel was to deeply understand the vision and mission of Planted Expo. What sets them apart in the market? What kind of consumers are attending their event and why? And finally, nothing speaks louder than first-hand testimonials from happy vendors.

This understanding laid the foundation for the storytelling process.

Identifying the Key Message

Every B2B communication requires a clear message. For Planted Expo, the focus was that, not only did this event put plant-based vendors in front of people who are 100% their target market, but it provided a space for vendors to come face-to-face with consumers who share core values, or are eager to hear their stories and create a connection,

If you are plant-curious or a vendor who offers vegan/cruelty-free products or services, I would highly recommend checking out Planted Expo as your next endeavour. Not only was the feedback from all types of consumers (omnivores and vegans alike) nothing but positive, but the line up to enter the event was out the door both days.

Shawna and Matt got married in 2019, the day after a tornado hit Ottawa.

When we arrived at the church, we discovered the tornado had knocked out their power, and for those unfamiliar with Notre Dame Cathedral, they have strict rules about the equipment used by photographers and videographers, and also have very high ceilings which are very difficult to bounce a flash off of.

Despite this VERY unforeseen circumstance, we still had a great day!

Looking back at this wedding day, the two pieces of advice I would take away from it and share with future couples are ...

Firstly, it's almost a rule made by the wedding Gods that something will go wrong on your day. This could be as small as misplacing your veil, and as major as a tornado wreaking havoc through the city and knocking out the power at your venue.

My advice? Don't sweat it. There are only two important things on your wedding day, and those are you and your partner. You will have put a lot of time and effort into planning your day, and whatever goes wrong will only make it more interesting. It's how you deal with the struggles that matters.

My second bit of advice... Hire professionals.

Vendors that have experience in the industry are well-versed in dealing with problems. We're not only photographers and videographers, but also part-time tie experts, problem solvers and personal cheerleaders.

Being at your side the entire day, it is our job to make you laugh, encourage you to take in the moment, and do our best to make sure you actually

enjoy and experience this day you've been dreaming of.
